Confident about continuing process, political solution preferable

Eneco has taken note of the ruling of the Court of Justice in Luxembourg. The Court states that the unbundling act is in breach of European regulations regarding free movement and can only be justified under certain conditions. The Dutch Court must now show that there was no alternative to the unbundling act and that forced unbundling of the energy companies is the only way to achieve the objectives pursued. It is expected that this will take some years to complete.  Although today's ruling again did not result in a final decision, we face the continuing process with confidence. Apart from the legal process, the political question arises  whether forced unbundling of energy companies in 2013 is in the interest of a clean, affordable and reliable energy supply in the Netherlands.
